🚨 AI has gotten crazier

I try to keep up with the latest AI news, but I missed this story that has been known for months.

RawStory.com published an article last week at https://www.rawstory.com/doge-team-sensitive-private-data-2672192671/ that raises alarms about the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

According to multiple sources, including Raw Story, Reuters, and American Oversight, this team may have used AI tools—specifically a custom version of Elon Musk’s chatbot Grok—to scan sensitive federal data.

I am disturbed by this. The DOGE team allegedly used the Grok AI to monitor federal employees for signs of “disloyalty,” reviewing internal communications in agencies like the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).

This raises serious concerns about privacy, surveillance, and abuse of AI in government settings.

Legal and ethics experts are now calling for investigations. Civil liberties groups warn that unchecked AI in the hands of political leadership—especially for monitoring behavior or opinions—sets a dangerous precedent.

This is a powerful reminder:🔍 We need clear rules around how AI is used in public service.⚖️ Transparency, ethics, and oversight must come first.

💬 What’s your take—should AI ever be used to assess “loyalty” in a government job?
